Exodus 29:1 And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest's office: Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish,
Praise the Lord!!
Today we will meditate upon the office of Aaron and his sons. In Old testament Aaron was chosen upon Moses to minister to the Lord.
I often wondered why Moses was not chosen as a Priest after all they were both Levite.
Aaron was among the people while Moses was in exile. He could connect to their sufferings more than Moses.
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Aaron was a similitude of Jesus. The office was for him and his sons. Similarly, When we partake in the communion we are his flesh and blood.
It is interesting that the way Aaron was ordained as a Priest showed much similitude in which we are being ordained into royal priesthood.
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Aaron was ordained through the following items.
Bullock - Sin Offering
Ram - burnt offering
Unleavened bread
Oil
Ephod
Breastplate
Though we don't use these item now we have a similitude of these which makes us a royal priesthood.
Offering of bullock and ram ( Jesus)
Unleavened bread ( Jesus)
Oil ( Holy Spirit)
Ephod ( Garment of Praise)
Breastplate ( Righteousness)
Saints, we are royal priesthood, special people, we are in the lineage of King.
So today shed off the dust of depression, guilt, sins, hurt and let's turn our attention to the saviour who has set us in the high pedestal, where our petitions are answered by the King himself.
Today onwards let your walk, talk, life be like prince and princess. You are chosen generation. Let noone tell you otherwise.
God bless
