Cords of the Tabernacle

Exodus  35:18 The pins of the tabernacle, and the pins of the court, and their cords,

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will discuss about the cords of the tabernacle.

These cords bind the tabernacle of the God. Cords are thin, flexible string or rope made from several twisted strands.

Though it is small in nature, they are very powerful in binding two objects.

God is particularly concerned with what cords we bind ourselves. As we are the tabernacle of God.

Types of cords.
1. Cords of Adultery
Samson was bound with cords of Adultery. When he gave himself to sin, cords of Adultery bound him and lead him to destruction.(Judges 15:14)

2. Cords of affliction
Job was afflicted by Satan in a series of test when Satan and God had a great argument about his faithfulness. (Job 36:8)

3. Cords of Revolt
These cords are broken in revolt and people set their minds against the will of God. ( Psalms 2:3)

4. Cords of Wickedness
When we disobey God and his commandments, we are bound by the cords of Wickedness. (Psalm 129:4)

5. Cords of one own sins.
When we don't confess our sins due to pride and ego. We are bound with the cords of our own sins. ( Proverbs 5:22)

6. Cords of Vanity.
When we constantly think evil about others, thinking about the world and it's pleasure we are bound in the cords of Vanity. (Isaiah 5:18)

7. Cords of Proudly.
Some people are proud for no reason, they are proud of their culture, education, beauty, age, prayer life, gifts in Holy Spirit and hold others in low esteem. (Psalms 140:5)

Lord is grieved and has spoken to Jeremiah thus:

Jeremiah  10:20  My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.

When we disobey God then we are voluntarily breaking His cords and following our heart.

Cords of Love

Hosea  11:4  I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.

Yes!! God has His own cords that is Cords of Love. He binds us together with his love. So that we forgive, forget and hold everyone in high esteem.

Ecclesiastes  4:12  And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Saints, yes three fold cord is very strong and not easily broken. When we invite God in our relationship we can withstand every evil plans and darts which devil throws on us.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.

Dwelling in the Tabernacle

Exodus  36:8 And every wise hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work made he them.

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will meditate upon the curtains of the tabernacle.

In old testament there was a specific reason to make curtains of the said colour.

Blue yarn symbolizes the baptism of Jesus. Which makes you righteous in the eyes of God. Therefore, blue yarn, the baptism of Jesus, is the most essential part of the Word of salvation.

Scarlet yarn symbolizes the blood of Jesus. All your sins, sickness, infirmities are washed in His Blood.

Purple yarn symbolizes His Divinity-the status of Jesus as King and God. The three colours of yarn were necessary for our faiths in Jesus and His salvation.

So we have curtain which is symbolic to Jesus. But why didn't God use a single curtain to cover the tabernacle? Why were curtains coupled together? Holy Spirit shows an hidden meaning.

We are the tabernacle of God.( Hebrews 9:11) so according to new testament whenever two or three gather together Lord is in midst of them. ( Matthew 18:20)

Significance of dwelling in tabernacle.
1. There is safety in his tabernacle. (Psalms 4:8)
2. Goodness and mercy shall follow you wherever you go. (Psalms 23:6)
3. You will never worry over petty matters. ( Psalms 25:13)
4. You will never lack any good thing. (Psalms 37:3)
5. You will be his inheritance. (Psalms 37:29)

Who would dwell in his tabernacle?
Psalm 15 says.
1. One who walks uprightly.
2. One who speaks truth in his heart.
3. One who doesn't gossip about other.
4. One who hates evil in all form.
5. One who doesn't earn money by dishonest means.

Saints, we are living in end times. Let's mend our ways and  dwell in his tabernacle with love, forgiving one another in Christ.

Amen.

Called to Serve

Exodus  36:2 And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will meditate upon believer's calling.

Matthew  22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

When we are adopted into God's family. We are called to serve Him. We are entrusted with responsibility to enlarge his kingdom. We are given talents or ministries which are useful in bringing more souls for the Lord.

However, sometimes we are lazy, ignorant or fearful to acknowledge that talent and don't bring fruits for His kingdom.

How can we recognise that we have a talent.
1. God will give his spirit of wisdom and understanding so that which seemed impossible in the beginning would be possible by his grace.
2. You will be zealous to do his work. You would want to work for him out of love and not under pressure.
3. You would not wait for appreciation or motivation from others. You will be self motivated to work for the Lord.

Sometimes, we recognize our calling but don't take steps to move ahead. Yes!! There is a reward for every work you do for the kingdom.

Amos  8:7  The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.

Remember God will not forget your works for Him. That work which would appear trivial in your eyes, God keeps it in highest esteem.

What would be the reward for not using your talents?

Revelation  2:5  Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

1. You will be termed unfruitful for the kingdom of God.
2. You will grieve the Lord and face his wrath.
3. You will not enter into the joy of the Lord.

It is written " Don't grieve the Holy Spirit". We are running a race of faith, if we do well we will receive a certificate " Good and Faithful Servant".

Matthew  25:21  His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Saints, we are here to do business for the Lord. Our sole aim should be to win souls for the Lord using our talents. Recognise which talent Lord has given you and bring souls for the Lord. We have to spread the gospel so that many will be saved and receive Jesus in their hearts.

1 Corinthians  9:16  For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

Amen.

Cheerful Giver

Exodus  36:6 And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will meditate upon Giving.

It is written " Give and it shall be given". In old testament Israelites would give with willingness of heart. In new testament Jesus taught his disciples in giving.

Luke  6:38  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Whom should we give?

We should give to the Lord the creator of heaven and earth. For He deserves our giving.

Genesis  2:4  These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

What should we give to the Lord?
1. We should give him praise each day for the goodness.
2. We should give him thanks for his faithfulness.
3. We should give him offering and tithes for the provision.
4. We should give him honour for He is God.
5. We should give him Glory for his magnificence.

Why should we give God?
1. He gives us and our descendants blessings of Abraham.( Genesis 28:4)
2. He gives us favour in the sight of people. ( Genesis 39:21)
3. He gave us the law and his commandments which keeps us from sinning. ( Deuteronomy 9:11, Nehemiah  9:13)
4. He gives us our enemies possession. ( 2 Samuel 12:8)
5. He gives us wisdom and understanding. ( 1 Kings 4:29)
6. He gives us long life. (Psalms 21:4)
7. He provides us during the times of trials. (Psalms 74:14)
8. He gave his only son Jesus for our sins so that we can get eternal life. ( Isaiah 50:6, John 3:16)

Saints, let's give Lord willingly and cheerfully what is due to him. As it is said.

2 Corinthians  9:7  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Prayer.

God's Glory

Exodus  33:18  And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will meditate upon glory of God.

Glory means giving highest honour to any person. God's Glory can be seen, hence Moses wanted to see God's Glory and pleaded God to show His Glory.

God says He will not share his Glory with anyone.(Isaiah  42:8).

Jeremiah pleaded people to give Glory to God.(Jeremiah  13:16 ) for God is pleased when his children Glorify Him.

Why should we give God Glory?
We should glorify God because
1. He is the LORD who exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth (Jeremiah 9:24)
2. He is the provider for all being.
3. He is all knowing and omnipresent in your situations.
4. He knows all the temptations and trials you are going through.
5. He is a loving father.
6. He protects you from every dangers surrounding your life.
7. He keeps your feet from stumbling in the darkness.

Isaiah  42:12  Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.

When we glorify God knowingly; He gives his glory to his children.

Isaiah  60:1  Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

What does the glory of God do for you?
1. His glory covers your nakedness. (Genesis 2:25)
2. His glory will present you blameless to his throne.(1 Peter 1:7)
3. His glory will work in your tribulations. (Ephesians 3:13)
4. His glory will supply all your needs. ( Philippians 4:19)
5. His glory will make you partaker to Lord's suffering. (1 Peter 4:13)

2 Thessalonians  2:14  Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Yes we can obtain his glory through Jesus Christ.
If you repent for your sins, accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour, lead a life pleasing to God. Take baptism and seek God daily. He will give his glory to you and present you blameless before his throne.

Revelation  21:23  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Yes Saints!! If you want to be a citizen of that country. Then glorify God everyday. Know that he is coming soon for you. Hold on to your faith and do the work pleasing to him.

Amen.

Face of the Lord

Exodus  33:20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will meditate upon the Face of the Lord.

Moses expressed his desire to see the Face of God. But God told him that no man can see him and live. Yet we find that God wants his children to seek his face daily. (Psalms 27:8)

Psalmist David seeked God's Face daily. Though he was a king and had a huge army, yet he didn't trust in them but seeked the face of the Lord.

1. Why should we seek the face of the Lord?
1. We should seek the face of the Lord for counsel. (Exodus 18:19)
2. We should seek the face of the Lord for strength. (Psalms 105:4)
3. We should seek the face of the Lord for wisdom. (Exodus 35:35)

But, sometimes Lord hides his face from us.

2. In which situations we find that Lord has hid his face.

1. When He finds sin in us for which we have not asked forgiveness. (Psalm 88:14) ( Psalms  34:16)
2. When He wants us to endure that trial which will fulfill His will.
(Psalms  13:1)
3. When he sees the wicked who does evil every day. (Isaiah  54:8)

Who is the face of the Lord?
Jesus is the face of the Lord
(Genesis 32:30).

Jesus said:
John  10:30  I and my Father are one.

1 Peter  3:12  For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

Saints, how should we seek his face.

Daniel  9:3  And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

We should seek His Face
1. With a repentant heart.
2. In our daily prayers.
3. In our fasting.

Saints, whenever you are troubled and nothing seems to work. Seek his face continually. (1 Chronicles  16:11 , Psalms  105:4)

Grace of God

Exodus  33:17 And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will meditate upon the Grace of God.

Grace Meaning

A prominent Old Testament word describing God's grace is chesed. This word speaks of deliverance from enemies, affliction, or adversity. It also denotes enablement, daily guidance, forgiveness, and preservation.

The New Testament word is Charis. It focuses on the provision of salvation.

Psalmist says no good thing is withheld from a person who has found Grace of God.

Why Grace is needed?

1. Grace gives you strength in the wilderness. ( Jeremiah 31:2)
2. Grace destroys every hindrance to your success. ( Zechariah 4:7)
3. Grace enables God's goodness to pass before you. ( Exodus 33:19)

How can we get this Grace of God?
1. God gives grace to the one who walks upright. ( Psalms 84:11)
2. God gives grace to a humble spirit. ( Proverbs 3:34)
3.  God gives grace to his saints who risk their lives for the kingdom of God. ( Acts 14:3)
4.  God gives grace to people who believe in Jesus Christ. (Acts 15:11)
5.  God gives grace to whom he has saved for his kingdom. ( Romans 1:5)

Saints, today we need grace of God more than ever. He is God full of grace and mercy.

Romans  3:24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Romans  5:17  For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

God who deserves the first place

Exodus  34:19 All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male.

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will meditate upon the God who alone deserves the first place.

Some translation says the "everything that is first is mine"

Every day we need to be careful in understanding who is influencing us. If we don't bother and go as the rest of world. We will not be able to perform task to the full potential. (Ecclesiastes 11:9)

You need to keep the God in the first place.

Why God deserves the first place?

1. He is Alpha and Omega ( Revelation 22:13)
2. He is the Lord your God (Leviticus 25:17)
3. He is the rewarder of your efforts.( Deuteronomy 2:7)
4. He fights your battles.( Deuteronomy 1:30)
5. He approaches you when you are in trouble. ( Deuteronomy 4:7)

What would happen if we don't give God the first place?

Abel and Cain both sacrificed their offerings to the Lord. Abel's sacrifice was accepted but Cain's sacrifice was rejected. The reason is Abel gave God first place.

Genesis  4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

Genesis 4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

In what way can we keep God in first place?
1. Glorify God every morning for the strength he gives you to carry out the work. ( Isaiah 33:2)
2. Glorify God for leading you in a right path. (Isaiah 42:16)
3. Glorify God for every good work he works on you. ( Proverbs 16:3)

Saints, if we don't give God the first place he deserves. Thus saith the Lord.

Genesis  4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Today if you are not giving him the first place. Repent for your sin and come back to him. He will forgive you in his abundant mercies.

Yes!! He is a Jealous God. Praise him, Love him with all your heart, mind and soul.

Jealous God

Exodus  34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will meditate upon the Lord whose name is jealous.

Jealous meaning:

fiercely protective of one's rights or possessions.

Many people have misinterpreted this word and turned their hearts from God. Recently in an interview a famous media person who was once a Christian turned Satanist on reading this word. She was so troubled by the truth that God is a Jealous God. She couldn't understand why should God be jealous.

Let's understand why God calls himself as  a Jealous God.

Why is God jealous?
1. He is jealous because he cares for you. ( 1 Peter 5:7)
2. He is jealous because you are his prized possession.( Ephesians 1:14)
3. He is jealous so that you will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Peter 1:4)
4. He is jealous so that you can be holy as he is Holy. ( 1 Peter 1:16)
5. He is jealous so he can present you blameless on the Judgement day. ( 1 Thessalonians 5:23)

Saints, sometimes Lord chasten us for our mistakes. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't love us.

2 Samuel  7:14  I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

Job  5:17  Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

Yes our Lord is a jealous God who will not tolerate his children being sold to sin. Be watchful in this world and please God with all the heart, mind and soul.

Isaiah  49:15  Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

Yes!! As a mother is protective and jealous about her child. Our Lord is jealous of you. He will bring all your desire to pass.

Let's worship him in the beauty of holiness.

Meaning of your existence

Romans  1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will meditate upon the meaning of your existence.

World is boggled with the existence of humankind.Scientists and researchers are pondering over this age old questions.

1. Who am I
2. Why am I here.
3. What is the purpose of my life.

As a Christian we are supposed to know the answer to these questions. If you are in a dilemma about your existence. Paul gave a beautiful summary of his life in the above verse.

1.Who am I
Paul calls himself a servant of Jesus Christ. A servant in those days was a very terrible thing. When a person buys a servant he becomes his slave and didn't have any rights and had to please the master always.

Paul who was a Pharisee, probably most learned amoungst all the apostles, found it a great honour to be called as a servant to Jesus Christ who laid down his life for all.

As a Christian you are a servant to Jesus Christ. If you deny to become his servant then you are servant to the world as it is written we cannot serve two masters.

2.Why am I here
You are called and chosen in accordance to his plan.
There are 5 offices of Christ.
1. Apostle
2. Prophet
3. Evangelist
4. Pastor
5. Teachers

You are here to do the business for the Kingdom of God. God ordains you to one of these office and expects you to use your talent and give fruit for the kingdom. If you are not using the talent. You will held accountable for that.

3. What is your purpose in life?

1 Corinthians  9:16  For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

1 Corinthians  9:17  For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.

You have been separated to preach the gospel to the world. There are many people who are unsaved in your family. You have to share the gospel else you will be accountable for their loss. As Christ saved you you have to share the love to them and draw them closer to Christ.

God Bless

What are you mindful of?

Romans  8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will meditate upon things we need to be mindful of.

We have always heard of this saying " An idle mind is a devil's workshop". Then it means we need to be mindful for something so that devil doesn't take over our thoughts.

What does a fleshly mind always think of?
1. Doing evil continuously ( Genesis 6:5)
2. Lust of flesh (Galatians 5:9)
3. Fulfilling the desires of flesh and mind (Ephesians 2:3)

What should a Christian be mindful of?

1. Be mindful of his covenant (1 Chronicles 16:15)
2. Be mindful of his wonders and blessings (Nehemiah 9:17)
3. Be mindful of Jesus and his sacrifice for us. ( Isaiah 17:10)
4. Be mindful of the rock of your strength (Isaiah 17:10)

What would we benefit by being spiritually minded?

We would receive these blessings if we set our minds to Christ.
1. His blessings will make you rich and add no sorrow to you ( Proverbs 10:22)
2. God will be your exceeding great reward ( Genesis 15:1)
3. God will establish a covenant between you and Him to bless you and your household eternally. (Genesis 17:12)

The question is how can we be spiritually minded in this world. As Isaiah said. Woe to me as I am in midst of unclean lips.

How can you think spiritually in this world?

1 John  3:9  Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

You need to be born of God
( born again) to remain blameless and spiritually minded.

How can we be born of God?

1.You need to confess all your sins to Jesus.
2. You need to accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour.
3. You need to take water baptism for the righteousness sake.
4. You need to invite the Holy Spirit in your hearts and surrender yourself in his hands.

Once you do all these things you can be assured that you will become spiritually minded as he will keep you holy and blameless untill that judgement day.

Saints, we are living in end times and every word that proceeds out of our mouth will be judged.

Be spiritually minded!!

Revelation  3:20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
