Cheerful Giver

Exodus  36:6 And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will meditate upon Giving.

It is written " Give and it shall be given". In old testament Israelites would give with willingness of heart. In new testament Jesus taught his disciples in giving.

Luke  6:38  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Whom should we give?

We should give to the Lord the creator of heaven and earth. For He deserves our giving.

Genesis  2:4  These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

What should we give to the Lord?
1. We should give him praise each day for the goodness.
2. We should give him thanks for his faithfulness.
3. We should give him offering and tithes for the provision.
4. We should give him honour for He is God.
5. We should give him Glory for his magnificence.

Why should we give God?
1. He gives us and our descendants blessings of Abraham.( Genesis 28:4)
2. He gives us favour in the sight of people. ( Genesis 39:21)
3. He gave us the law and his commandments which keeps us from sinning. ( Deuteronomy 9:11, Nehemiah  9:13)
4. He gives us our enemies possession. ( 2 Samuel 12:8)
5. He gives us wisdom and understanding. ( 1 Kings 4:29)
6. He gives us long life. (Psalms 21:4)
7. He provides us during the times of trials. (Psalms 74:14)
8. He gave his only son Jesus for our sins so that we can get eternal life. ( Isaiah 50:6, John 3:16)

Saints, let's give Lord willingly and cheerfully what is due to him. As it is said.

2 Corinthians  9:7  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Prayer.

Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.

God Bless
