Sanctuary of the Lord

Exodus  25:8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.

Praise the Lord!!

Today we will meditate upon Lord's sanctuary. It was always Lord's wish that he dwell amoung the people.

We can find that in Genesis 3:9

Genesis  3:9  And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

Lord wanted to spend his evening with Adam, to dwell with him, instruct him, show him his plans, fellowship with him. Even after Adam fell from glory, Lord was eager to restore that relationship with his children.

In Moses unlike how people felt, Lord wanted to dwell amoung them and protect them, keep them holy as he was holy.

Psalms  65:4  Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

Notice how the psalmist calls the man blessed whom

1. Lord had chosen
2. Lord gives him a chance to approach him.
3. Lord makes him dwell in his courts.

Why would he want to dwell with him?
So that we may be satisfied with the goodness of his house.

So how can we then dwell with him everyday, fellowship with him and please him?

Paul says in the following verse your body is the temple of the Lord. He mentions to keep it from sinning.

1 Corinthians  6:19  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

2 Corinthians  6:16  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Notice here Lord again mentioned that if we keep our body as a temple.

1. Lord will dwell with us.
2. Lord will walk with us.
3. Lord will be our God.
4. And we will be considered his people.

Saints, as you read the words don't harden your hearts. Repent for any sins or mistake no matter how trivial it may seem to your eyes. Make peace with Lord as you are his temple nothing is worth in this world to be deprived of his fellowship.

God bless
